Life Lessons

You always learn things in life and one thing that i will remember is that when I was about 4 years old I hated, absolutely hated tomatoes. My mom always tried to make me eat them but i refused. If I smelt them I would pull a weird face because i thought they look and tasted really bad, the thing is that I had never tasted one in my life before. The one thing that nobody understood is that I was a (I still am) a ketchup lover. Ketchup is made out of tomatoes so this did not make any sense. My parents did everything they could to let me try a tomato. They always told me that it tasted sweet a bit like candy; but I still refused to even get my mouth close to it.

My mom made salad one night and she put baby tomatoes in the salad and even chopped them in half, she wanted to see if I would maybe get one in my salad and not see it but eat it. I know what your thinking right now 'her plan worked', okay it did work. When I ate the tomato (with out noticing) I said "WOW mom did you put something in the salad that is new because there is this thing and i don't know what it is but it tastes really good??" my Moms plan had worked. "Well it isåålike'. this doen't aply to just 'food' but it aplys to your every day life. Don't just sit there and say No i am not going to do that , try it and have fun dong it. Now i love finding out new things and trying to do different things in life.

I think I would like to be a anthropologist because ...

My Favorite Holiday memory !

My favorite vacation memory ... wow I cant choose ! Well here is one of my favorite memories: Our family decided we were going to start diving as a whole family! Our family could not wait , we were all so exited to go ! We went by airplane and then we took a boat to the Perhentian Island. As we got of the boat I knew that the holiday was going to be fun ! We checked in , we got our room put our stuff done and went to go and meet our trainers (for diving). The traines told us what we were going to do in the next 4 days. I could not wait until the next day !

In the morning the trainers showed us how to put on all the gear. the gear was so heavy. We got into the water and then the trainer showed us some skills and we hadx to practise the skills ! After a few lesons we went out to the open water to where all the corals and fish are. We did 4 dives in total and we saw a sting ray and my trainer and I saw a shark. It was a reef shark, but before u knew it the shark was goen beacause the sharks are more scared of you than you are of them ! We saw millions of fish it was amasing ! I will never for get a holiday like this !

My Academic and Social Goals For This Year

My Academic goal is: I want to be the best I can be , try my hardest and have lots . My Social Goals are: To make more friends with different people and to do more stuff for friends and doing stuff with them!

Book and movies I have recently read/seen .

The books that I have read recently are : Making a splash (the whole series) The author is Jade Parker ! I really like the books , they are very nice. I have not really read any other books lately because I have been spending the summer reading the series so there is not really any other books that I have read. I have not seen many movies over the summer but I did see Ice Age 3 and I really liked it! It was so cute

All About Me !

As you know my name is Zelma Snyman. I have a brother and a sister they are both in high school, they sometimes can be really annoying but I guess I am annoying to them as well. I come from South Africa , and I have lived in South Africa for eight years and I have also lived in Holland for two years ! So I can speak Dutch, Dutch is very close to Afrikaans (the language of South Africa) so I learnt dutch very fast and I can speak it fluentley, but I am losing it beacause I started spanish !
